Estepona's Mountains

Just inland of Estepona are the Sierra Bermeja mountains sparsely sprinkled with towns of traditional white Andalusian architecture with red tiled roofs, narrow streets and low-keyed small shops. These towns are within one hour's driving time of Estepona and reveal some of Southern Spain's rich history.

Examples are Jerez, Ronda and Casares. Each location offers a memorable day's outing. Most are quite well suited to picnics as they are sited in beautiful mountainous settings. Mountain driving is on paved roads with only occasional traffic and spectacular views. It's a great way to vary the beach vacation schedule.
